Firstly entschuldige mich das ich in Englisch schreibe, aber ein antwort auf deutsch is kein problem.
I have a few questions:
1. I am looking for a SAP course to begin. I have a background in mechanical engineering and a MBA focussed on environmental management. Sadly I cannot really say I have a specialisation because my only work experience has been in Market research. From my research I believe a SAP course in MM, production planning or logistics is the best option. Could you please give me any ideas regarding that?
2. The reason for my SAP course is an inability to enter the german job market (due to my lack of specialisation & poor german skills). But I have read in a lot of forums that SAP jobs are hard to come by without project experience. So what do I do? Does the SAP training academy help with internships/praktikum?
3. Would it be impossible for me to learn SAP in german? I must add here I understand almost everything but am unsicher because of my grammatical errors.
4. What is the difference between a SAP berater, SAP user, SAP proffesional, SAP programmer(ABAP? only), Do I have to pay extra for my certification?
5.  Is the latest SAP version SAP 6.0 or SAP ECC? Is there a table somewhere that shows the heirarchy and relationship between the various modules?
6. I would additionaly like to do a course on SAP sustainability after my intoduction to SAP. My assumption is it matches best with PP and MM, is it correct?
Any additional information on the carbon trading and sustainability aspects of SAP would be welcome.
7. Important questions I should ask the SAP training institutes before I choose the correct training institute.

Thank you for your time. A reply in German to one or all the questions is absolutely no problem. Thanks again for the help.

Regards,
Richard

Hi Richard,

just to start a bit of discussion of your questions, what do you think of the suggestion to specialize on SAP IS-U EHS (environment, health and safety), afterwards find an international consulting company hiring you and starting in an international (which means project language English) project?
Viele Grüße

Hi, Uli,

Thanks for your reply. I have been breaking my head over SAP EHS. It is a good option for me definetely but I havent been able to find much information regarding training courses for all the modules in EHS and it is extremely expensive to learn all the modules of EH&S. The course (sponsored by Agentur fur arbeit) I am looking at at present has 2 modules. Module1: Anwender in Logistik grudlagen (MM, Vertrieb, PP) Module2 :Berater Vertrieb( SCM 600,605,610,615,620). This is a 6months fulltime course. Then I wanted to do a 30 hour course on Carbon impact at SAP.com (My self-investment initially of 350Euro).

This as you see was my originel plan mostly driven by the fact that I have little or no information on the training available for EH&S. Personally EH&S is the most interesting thing for me IF I get concrete info on training courses here in Dresden and then if I can sell this to the Agentur fur Arbeit person. If I have the option of doing all the modules in EHS as a single bundle it would be the best step for me. I hope I have not confused you too like I have myself. Awaiting any input.

Regards,

Richard

Hey,
welcome to the SAP forum.
If you have the chance to visit a course sponsored by the unemployment-agency, i can recommend that to you.
I also participated a course with the main focus on materials management in 2005. I finished with the SAP certificate and right now I can say that this was a good desicion. As you wrote you don't have any SAP skills, do you?
After finishing your SAP Course (MM, Vertrieb, PP) you should apply for a job. That is possible, but you shouldn't expect a high salary. The most important thing is to find a SAP job. The salary will increase by its own.
It can be an advantage that you speak english pretty good. Some companies are particularly looking for employees with an international background.
Anyway I wish you good luck and keep us up to date.
All the best
